This wide range of hand pads includes various product variants suitable for touching up stainless steel and aluminium surfaces, achieving a matt metal finish, light stain removal and tool cleaning. The Wear and Resistant hand pads can be used to clean delicate surfaces, to achieve a matt finish, or to roughen painted surfaces in preparation for the next stage of the process. They can be applied after an initial coat of paint, for intermediate sanding, and also prior to bonding.

Use the Scotch-Brite™ 7447 PRO hand pad for a wide range of materials and applications. It combines flexibility with effective abrasion performance and precise control for consistently excellent results. Our hand pad contains densely packed aluminium oxide, which produces a fine finish on wood, metal, plastic, ceramics, porcelain, glass and composite materials. The hand pads are comparable to grade 0 steel wool, but unlike steel wool, they do not rust after use and do not produce fine metal splinters. The open-weave fleece material is durable and can be used dry, with water or solvents, and rinsed out for reuse. Use our brown hand pad in many different ways. It fits comfortably in the hand to ensure precise control. It can also be used with a hand block for a uniform finish or on an orbital sander for larger surfaces. The fast-cutting, fine-grained aluminium oxide in our hand pad makes it the first choice for many users. New abrasive grains are continuously brought into contact with the surface without undercutting the workpiece, whilst maintaining critical tolerances. The homogeneous distribution of the abrasive grains ensures a uniform, reproducible surface finish. Thanks to a built-in lubricant, these fleece belts are ideal for dry grinding, but can also be used with all standard grinding additives.

With the Scotch-Brite™ XT Pro coarse cleaning disc, benefit from improved adaptability whilst maintaining consistent strength when pre-treating metal surfaces or removing rust and paint. The disc features a combination of newly developed fibre bundles, synthetic resin and silicon carbide abrasives, which together form a thick, open-weave fleece. Thanks to the springy nature of the fibres, the disc can adapt more precisely to the contours of the workpiece. This increases the contact area and the removal rate. It adapts to weld beads to polish weld seams without removing them. It also allows you to reach hard-to-access areas without damaging the surface. Thanks to its high removal rate, the silicon carbide ensures excellent surface quality. Undesirable burrs, dirt and contaminants are effectively removed without altering the shape of the workpiece. This in turn reduces rework and increases productivity. Gaps in the fleece also allow grinding debris to be carried away, minimising clogging of the abrasive. The hard synthetic resin bond gradually breaks down during use to expose new fibre bundles and fresh, super-sharp silicon carbide abrasive. This ensures consistent removal performance throughout the entire service life. The high-strength fibres prevent tearing and deliver excellent results even on edges. The abrasive belts deliver the best performance on steel, stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium and nickel alloys, and can be used on aluminium, copper, brass and soft non-ferrous metals. They are available in numerous variants to suit a wide range of different applications. Low-stretch Scotch-Brite abrasive belts for surface finishing are made from aluminium oxide and silicon carbide minerals. They are available in numerous combinations, including: medium aluminium oxide (A MED), very fine aluminium oxide (A VFN), coarse aluminium oxide (A CRS), medium silicon carbide (S MED), super-fine silicon carbide (S SFN) and very fine silicon carbide (S VFN). Aluminium oxide breaks down more gently than silicon carbide but lasts longer. It is ideal when only light sanding marks are required, such as on softer metals, or when grooving or undercutting are the primary concerns. For a coarser and more aggressive cut, silicon carbide is a good choice. Our finer grits produce finer finishing results, whilst medium or coarse grits deliver coarser finishing results. Our abrasive belts have been developed for applications with low belt stretch, where a standard fabric belt stretches on the machine or where lower adaptability is required. They are tear-resistant, resistant to sharp edges and useful across a wide range of industries, from transport to metalworking. Choose from a range of sanding belt types, from file or narrow belts, hand sanding belts and sanding belt sleeves to wide and flat finishing sanding belts. Tools, surface area, contours and dimensions of the workpiece – all these factors must be taken into account when selecting an abrasive belt. Narrow abrasive belts are typically used in applications with bench-top machines and grinding blocks. Abrasive belt sleeves are fitted around extension discs and used for finishing large, stationary equipment components.
