Our sanding discs offer the perfect combination of a robust backing material and fast-cutting, durable aluminium oxide abrasive. Aluminium oxide is a preferred choice among professional users in the industry due to its high cutting speed and long service life. This mineral is suitable for robust, long-lasting abrasives that fracture during use, exposing fresh cutting edges, whereas conventional abrasives become blunt more quickly. The disc is available with a 15-hole or 7-hole pattern, which prevents dust from adhering to the disc, thereby significantly increasing removal rate and service life. Thanks to our Hookit™ attachment system, the discs can be changed quickly and reused repeatedly throughout the product’s lifecycle.

The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Hookit™ 732U paper disc features 3M precision-shaped ceramic abrasive grains – a revolutionary advancement in abrasive technology. The triangularly shaped ceramic mineral is designed to cut through the substrate rather than gouging or ‘ploughing’ it, as conventional abrasives do. As a result, the disc lasts up to four times longer than conventional abrasives. These discs, now available in grits from 80+ to 1,000+, have been developed for a wide range of substrates and applications, offering flexibility and versatility in use. The discs are suitable for a wide range of tasks, from material removal to fine sanding and finishing of various surfaces and substrates, including metals, paints, composites, gel coats and various types of wood. The C-paper backing offers flexibility and is suitable for sanding applications where edge stability is not a priority. The best results are achieved when used with 3M Xtract™ random orbital sanders. We offer a complete range of 3M™ Hookit™ sanding discs, which can be conveniently attached to a hook-and-loop backing pad (sold separately), removed cleanly and easily, and reused throughout the life of the abrasive. In work areas where self-adhesive discs may become contaminated by dust or dirt, or where a 3M™ Stikit™ sanding disc might be too aggressive, Hookit™ discs tend to produce a finer finish than self-adhesive discs.
