Hot-melt adhesives
3M Scotch-Weld Schmelzklebstoffe entwickeln durch Wärme eine effektive Festigkeit zu zahlreichen Werkstoffen, ohne diese chemisch zu verändern. Sie eignen sich besonders dort, wo eine schnelle Anfangsfestigkeit erforderlich ist, und verbinden zuverlässig Materialien wie Pappe, Holz, Kork, Leder, Kunststoffe (inkl. PE und PP), Textilien, Gummi, Metall, Glas, Keramik und Schaumstoffe. Mit der speziellen Klebstofftechnologie lassen sich Hohlräume und Fugen optimal ausfüllen.
Einige Varianten sind als LOW-MELT-Versionen erhältlich. Diese werden bei niedriger Schmelztemperatur verarbeitet und eignen sich daher auch für temperaturempfindliche Materialien wie Styropor. Gleichzeitig zeichnen sie sich durch minimale Dampf- und Geruchsentwicklung aus.
Um die Auswahl zu erleichtern, sind die Scotch-Weld Schmelzklebstoffe in unterschiedliche Gruppen unterteilt:

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ 3738 is an EVA-based hot-melt adhesive. The product, which has a 100% solids content, is UL-listed and is particularly suitable for bonding wood-based materials. The hot-melt adhesive also offers excellent impact resistance and good electrical properties. Scotch-Weld 3738 is used, for example, to bond wood, cardboard, paper and textiles.
3M™ Polyolefin-based Hot-Melt Adhesive 3748 TC Q, White, 5 kg
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ 3748 is a polyolefin-based hot-melt adhesive. This product, which has a 100% solids content, is UL-listed, offers high mechanical and thermal resistance, and is particularly suitable for applications in the electrical and electronics industry. Furthermore, the hot-melt adhesive offers excellent peel strength and high temperature resistance up to 80°C. Scotch-Weld 3748 is used, for example, to bond low-energy plastics such as PE and PP, as well as for potting electrical and electronic components and for reinforcing components on printed circuit boards.
3M™ Polyolefin-based Hot-Melt Adhesive 6111, Beige, 19 mm x 19 mm, 10 kg
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Hot Melt Adhesive 6111HT is a 100% solids spray adhesive that is applied using heat. It offers a fast and clean alternative to aerosol, contact and solvent-based adhesives. It adheres to a variety of surfaces, including plastics with low surface energy (LSE). The adhesive is ideal for bonding large surfaces and does not damage temperature-sensitive substrates such as polystyrene foam, polyethylene and polypropylene. Simply by applying heat, the user can utilise a high-performance adhesive that can be applied easily, quickly and precisely to one or two surfaces. A further advantage is the virtually immediate bond strength with a working time of up to 8 minutes (depending on the substrate). The adhesive also features high heat resistance, ensuring secure and durable bonds even in high-temperature environments.
